REMEDIAL MASSAGE
Remedial massage treats specific musculoskeletal problems, injuries, or chronic pain conditions. It involves the assessment and treatment of the soft tissues of the body. It adopts a range of techniques, including deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, and stretching, to address the underlying causes of pain and dysfunction. It may also incorporate other modalities such as heat therapy, ice therapy, myofascial cupping and dry needling to help clients manage their symptoms and improve their overall health.
Remedial massage can assist with pain relief, improved flexibility and range of motion, reduced muscle tension and stiffness, improved posture, and better circulation. It can be beneficial for a range of conditions, including back pain, neck pain, headaches, sports injuries, and repetitive strain injuries.

SPORTS MASSAGE
Sports massage is specifically designed to help athletes and active individuals improve their performance, prevent injuries, and aid in the recovery from sports-related injuries. It typically involves a combination of deep tissue massage, stretching, and other techniques that target the muscles and soft tissues that are most commonly affected by sports and physical activity.
Whether you need pre-event massage to warm up and prepare the muscles, post-event massage to aid in recovery or maintenance massage to prevent injuries and improve overall performance, we can tailor services to suit the individual.
Benefits include improved flexibility, reduced muscle soreness and stiffness, increased range of motion, improved circulation, and enhanced athletic performance. It can also help to reduce the risk of injuries and promote faster recovery from sports-related injuries.

PREGNANCY MASSAGE
Pregnancy or prenatal massage is specifically designed to help pregnant women manage the physical and emotional changes that occur during pregnancy.
It focuses on addressing the unique needs of pregnant women, including discomfort, stress, and anxiety. It uses techniques that are safe and comfortable for pregnant women, such as side-lying positioning and the use of support pillows.
Massage is recommended during all trimesters of pregnancy. Beginning massage at an early stage can help to reduce stress and anxiety, relieve muscle tension and soreness, improve circulation, reduce swelling, and improved sleep.
I have been specifically trained as Pregnancy Massage Therapist and would be happy to answer any questions you have prior to your first session.

MYOFASCIAL CUPPING
Myofascial cupping is a type of therapy that specifically targets the fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles and other tissues in the body. This technique involves using suction cups to create a negative pressure on the skin and underlying fascia, which can help to release tension, improve circulation, and promote healing.
Myofascial cupping is often used as part of a broader treatment plan for a range of musculoskeletal conditions, including back pain, neck pain, and joint stiffness. It can also be used to improve athletic performance and speed up recovery time after sports injuries.
During a myofascial cupping session, the therapist applies cups to specific areas of the body and uses them to glide along the skin, creating a stretching and pulling sensation. This technique can help to release adhesions and knots in the fascia, increase blood flow and oxygen to the tissues, and promote the release of endorphins, which are natural painkillers.
Myofascial cupping is generally considered safe, although it can cause temporary bruising, soreness, and skin irritation. It's important to consult with your massage therapist before undergoing myofascial cupping therapy, particularly if you have any pre-existing health conditions or are taking medications.

DRY NEEDLING
Dry needling is a technique used to treat musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction by inserting thin needles into trigger points in the muscles. Unlike traditional acupuncture, which is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine and focuses on the flow of energy through the body, dry needling is based on Western anatomy and neurophysiology and aims to target specific muscle fibers and trigger points.
During a dry needling session, the needles are inserted into the trigger points, which are areas of tightness or knots in the muscles. The needles are left in place for several minutes, and may be moved or manipulated to help release tension and promote healing.
This is typically not painful, however you may feel a dull ache in the targeted muscle area.
Dry needling is believed to work by causing a local twitch response in the muscle, which can help to release tension and improve blood flow and oxygenation to the tissues.
Dry needling is generally considered safe, however it's important to consult with your massage therapist before undergoing dry needling therapy, particularly if you have any pre-existing health conditions or are taking medications.

HOT STONES
Hot stone massage is a type of massage therapy that involves the use of smooth, heated stones, which are placed on certain points on the body to help loosen muscles and promote relaxation. The stones may also be used as massage tools to provide deeper pressure and promote circulation.
